selflessbellamy:

the story of bellamy and clarke is one of two people who fell from the stars. It is a story about a man walking with his past crumbling in his wake, guilt heavy on his shoulders, and about a woman with fire in her soul, a painful roar stuck in her throat. how the two come together is a mystery within itself, but he looks at her recognizing that her strength can carry the sun as it shines, and she looks at him as if his soul is transparent, spilling tales of broken heroes with good intensions.

the harmony between them comes and goes like a tidal wave; powerfully breaking grounds. everyone sees it, which means that at some point even they have to themselves. “you’re forgiven, okay?” is the words that speak louder than war drums: i need you so i can’t hate you. and i hope that you don’t hate yourself.

she makes loving life easier. the soft laughter leaving her lips, the sparks in her eyes as she looks at him. sure, they will both pretend that this is nothing, but their souls are talking, and he thinks: oh boy, they want to connect.

and somehow they do, to sound of marching and the smell of gunpowder. his cannot stay behind when hers is leaving . he inspires them like she inspires him. shifting his eyes to the ceiling, he curses the universe. my soul was so fine being lonely before. ruling alone, fighting alone… but this golden-haired queen with stormy eyes have made it long.

she is gone, he thinks. taken off the surface of the earth and carved into a star, shining down at me.

i killed him, she thinks. he is the ashes on my fingertips and the voice in my head.

but no, his arms are a shield around her waist. and she is the wave against everything in him that is stone cold. the gaze is a promise kept, an unspoken one: i will always come back to you.

the story of bellamy and clarke is one of two warriors who used to fight their battles alone. it is about a man who was not humiliated as his cling met a woman’s, and she proved to be as strong as him. it is about the woman who read his soul like an open book, not skipping a single flaw or scar, and decided that he was something very special.
