i’m like 85% sure that’s jasper he’s shooting.  

we know from the finale shots that jasper winds up in the city of light, and we know from 2x13 that monty generally has no qualms about shooting his enemies.  for him to scream like that, that bullet must be going to someone he really doesn’t want to kill, which gives us three options: his mom, his ‘surprise, I’m not really dead and somehow evil or brainwashed!’ dad, or, the most likely option, his brother the hollowed out shell where his best friend used to be before the city of light consumed him.  i think that might be jasper’s fate this season; swallowed up by jaha’s cult, hollowed out by ALIE until he is basically no longer jasper, and finally put down like a rabid animal by his sobbing best friend before he does something truly heinous.  from the trailers, we know raven winds up in the city of light as well.  my guess is that raven is ultimately rescued from it– she either rejects it on her own or is forcibly taken out of it by her friends.  jasper is the sacrifice, the one completely devoured by the city to show the audience how dangerous it is and what happens to those who can’t be saved.  so jasper dies in the worst way possible, having completely lost all traces of his former self, and monty lives the rest of his life knowing that he killed his best friend.  no getting better.  no jonty reconciliation, apologies, or understanding.  just madness, death, and sorrow.  thanks, jaha.

that seems about the right level of fucked-up for this show, don’t you think?  i hope i’m wrong, though.  i really hope i’m wrong.
