This scene actually makes me sad. She’s adorable and thoughtful and he knows how to kiss, but look how stoic he is. His emotions are on lock down. You guys PTSD doesn’t always present the same way. He’s still at war, never at ease. All these kids are falling apart.
THIS. Just to add, look at the 2nd gif and then the 4th. Look at his face - that is major lock down mode right there, almost expressionless.
Yeah, I think it’s good that he’s found someone who wasn’t an immediate part of the core group from last season, but at the same time there’s a whole part of them that he can never talk about with her, that she can never understand. I think that’s where the disconnect is – he can talk about who he was before he dropped to the ground, but once he became part of the delinquents he was complicit in these brutal, destructive things, including the deaths for which Clarke was dubbed “Wanheda.” And that, as of now, isn’t something he can share with her.
